Park Min-young‘s agency, Hook Entertainment, was seized and searched.
The Serious Crimes Investigation Division of the National Police Agency raided and searched the Hook office building located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 10th.
The sudden search and seizure were conducted from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on the same day.
As it is extremely rare for the police to search and confiscate entertainment agencies, the focus is on the background, but the exact reason has not yet been revealed.
SBS Entertainment News explained, “Recently, three publicly traded companies related to actor Park Min-young’s ex-lover Kang Jong-hyun have been seized and searched.”
Hook Entertainment includes singer Lee Seon-hee, actors Lee Seo-jin, Park Min-young, Lee Seung-gi, and Yoon Yeo-jeong.
Earlier, on the 27th of last month, Prosecutor Chae Hee-man, head of the Financial Investigations Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office, announced that he was considering the timing of summoning Kang Jong-hyun, who was identified as a key figure in the case of embezzlement of the cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, from leaving the country. Kang Jong-hyun is the older brother of Inbiogen, an affiliate of Bithumb, and Kang Ji-yeon, the CEO of Bucket Studio. He was also caught up in dating rumors with actor Park Min-young.
At the time, Kang Jong-hyun revealed that they broke up, saying, “I don’t want [Park Min-young’s] career as an actor to be ruined because of me. That’s why we decided to break up.”
