BLACKPINK continues to make Spotify history with their new song “Pink Venom“!

Last week, BLACKPINK’s new pre-release single “Pink Venom” became the first Korean-language song in history to reach No. 1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top Songs chart, as well as the first K-pop song ever to spend three days at No. 1. The song is currently still going strong at No. 3 on the daily chart, having never left the top 3 in the entire first week of its release.

To add to that achievement, “Pink Venom” has now achieved the highest ranking of any song by a female K-pop artist on Spotify’s weekly Global Top Songs chart. For the week of August 25, “Pink Venom” debuted at No. 2 on the weekly chart with an impressive total of 41,286,215 streams, breaking the previous record set by BLACKPINK’s own “How You Like That” (which debuted at No. 4 back in 2020).

With this debut, BLACKPINK has also tied BTS‘s record for the highest ranking ever achieved by a K-pop artist on Spotify’s weekly Global Top Songs chart. Before “Pink Venom,” BTS’s hit songs “Dynamite” and “Butter” both debuted at No. 2 on the weekly chart—meaning that the three singles now share the record for the highest-charting K-pop songs of all time.
